Lorient celebrate their centenary on Sunday against Paris FC at 17:15, then host a legends match on Monday at 15:00. Marking the milestone, an all-time XI has been named.

According to L'Équipe, current players were omitted, so captain Laurent Abergel and Montassar Talbi were not considered. The XI is a 4-4-2, the signature of Christian Gourcuff’s long stewardship, despite Yvon Pouliquen’s trophy wins.

Fabien Audard starts in goal, the club’s Ligue 1 appearance record holder with 229 games. Christophe Jallet is at right-back, later a 16-cap international.

In central defence, Jérémy Morel partners Laurent Koscielny, who left after 2009-10 for Arsenal, making 353 appearances across nine seasons and earning 51 caps. On the left, Arnaud Le Lan edges Raphaël Guerreiro.

Pascal Feindouno owns the right flank, his 2001-02 loan emblematic of the 2002 Coupe de France win. In midfield, Morgan Amalfitano and Seydou Keita are selected.

Amalfitano supplied 13 assists in 2010-11 before joining OM. Keita arrived on loan from Marseille at 20, shone over 68 games and helped win the 2002 final against Bastia 1-0.

Stéphane Pédron leads the left, D2’s best player in 1997-98 as Lorient first went up. Ali Bouafia struck the promotion clincher in 1998 and the club’s first top-flight goal four months later.

Up front, Jean-Claude Darcheville and Kevin Gameiro lead. Darcheville hit 25 D2 goals in two seasons and 19 in Ligue 1, and is remembered for his chip in the 2002 final. Gameiro scored 11, 17 and 22 league goals and became the club’s record Ligue 1 scorer.
