Garro spends over 100 days in Corinthians' medical room this season

Before the ball rolled last Saturday, 14, in the match between Corinthians and Fluminense, midfielder Rodrigo Garro felt discomfort in his calf and was cut from the match. After tests at the training center, a grade 2 injury was found at the site, taking the player out of action for the next few weeks.

This week, he passed the 100-day mark in the medical department treating physical injuries. This year, he was absent for two periods to treat patellar tendinopathy, in the knee, which is a chronic injury and there is no procedure to extinguish the problem.

Because of this problem, he missed more than three months of the current season, when he was absent in two different periods - at the beginning of the season and after the conquest of the Paulistão. Garro had been complaining of knee pain, but the new injury is not directly related to the previous problem.

Since the beginning of 2025, there have been 27 games with absences of the number 8. This, in fact, is one of the complaints of Dorival Júnior since his hiring, as he can hardly gather the offensive trio considered titular in Corinthians: Rodrigo Garro, Memphis Depay and Yuri Alberto.

Currently, the medical department of Corinthians is considered full: in addition to Garro, Memphis Depay, Luiz Gustavo Bahia, Raniele, André Carrillo, and Charles are treating injuries. Martínez was until the confrontation against Fluminense, but returned to training on the field.

The next commitment of Corinthians takes place this Sunday, September 21, against Sport Recife. The ball rolls on the field of Ilha do Retiro, with Timão trying to overcome the absences and continue on a roll in the Brasileirão.
