‘Gave my best’ Joao Gomes thanks Wolves after £38m Aston Villa move | OneFootball

According to ExpressAndStar.com, Joao Gomes has thanked Wolves after completing a £38m move to Aston Villa, posting a heartfelt farewell to supporters.

He reflected on being welcomed from day one, on growing as a player and as a person, and on giving his best in every training session and match.

He accepted the timing, after the club’s relegation from the Premier League, was not what he wanted and will keep cheering Wolves.

The Brazilian departs Molineux after three and a half years and 130 appearances, moving across the West Midlands.

He regards his work with the Wolves Foundation as his greatest legacy at Molineux, having regularly joined its activities and taken a keen interest in the Wolf Words project supporting children with speech and language difficulties.

Gomes, who has a stammer, visited several schools through the scheme. He was named a PFA community champion earlier this year and the club’s community player of the year last season.
