That earlier return came after 348 days out following the devastating ACL rupture and lateral meniscus injury he suffered while on international duty with Spain on November 19, 2023.

This time, Gavi has been out for 203 days since his last appearance, which came against Levante on August 23, 2025. He later underwent arthroscopy on September 23 to resolve an issue with the internal meniscus of his right knee, with the meniscus sutured in order to preserve it.

When he underwent surgery, the club estimated a recovery period of between four and five months, and he has now spent several weeks back working with the group. The medical green light has finally arrived for the talented Spaniard.
