GdS: ‘Fonseca changes again’ – questions asked of Tomori and Reijnders

AC Milan have been on a pendulum this season, and have too often swung between good and bad moments. It would be fair to suggest that there have been more negatives than positives, and for this reason, the Rossoneri need more from their key players.

Aside from the derby victory, Milan’s season has been very poor. Two losses from two in the Champions League paints an already questionable picture, but underwhelming performances in Serie A further add fuel to the fire.

Because of this, Paulo Fonseca is once again facing questions about his future, and he is left trying to find answers during the international break, and a report suggests that he may look to radical answers.

As Gazzetta dello Sport writes this morning, the Rossoneri face themselves, and they must overcome the challenges facing them. If they don’t action could be taken, and for this reason, the Portuguese head coach may look away from the starters – something which he has rarely done.

For this reason, Fikayo Tomori could start from the bench, after several poor performances, headlined by the events in Florence. With Strahinja Pavlovic and Malick Thiaw both contesting the place, there is a chance the Portuguese coach will look to another option.

The other bold call is the one regarding Tijjani Reijnders. With Youssouf Fofana’s shielding of the defence, the Dutchman has more license to attack, but he has not proven himself so far, leading Fonseca to question his role. It is, therefore, possible that Ruben Loftus-Cheek returns to the starting squad in his place against Udinese.

Tammy Abraham could also be given a game on the sidelines after his performance in the Diavolo’s last game, and Noah Okafor could be allowed some rare starting minutes.
