Gonzalo Plata restores Flamengo posts and refollows club on Instagram | OneFootball

Gonzalo Plata has reinstated Instagram photos in Flamengo colours after archiving them earlier this year, and he has followed the club again.

According to Coluna Do Fla, he removed all images in Flamengo kit amid a turbulent spell early in the year. In late March he also unfollowed the club, keeping only a photo from the 2025 Libertadores title against Palmeiras in Lima with the trophy.

Now back as an undisputed starter, Plata has drawn praise from head coach Leonardo Jardim. He was among the best performers in the 3-0 Libertadores win over Cusco of Peru.

Jardim said Plata initially found adaptation difficult, then integrated well in behaviour, attitude and quality. A knee problem sidelined him for about a week and a half, and he trained in a controlled way to face Palmeiras. Three days later he was fully available, showing intensity and strong team spirit, even willing to help at some risk, a change of attitude the coach admires.

Previously seen as negotiable, the forward’s status has shifted. His future will only be decided after the World Cup. Released by Flamengo, he is with Ecuador preparing for the tournament.
