According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds have an agreement to sign Harry Wilson, with any announcement possibly not landing until next week, and there is no sense of panic over the timeline.
Leeds and Wilson agreed terms last week, 10 months after a failed deadline-day push to take the Wales international from Fulham. He has since run down his Craven Cottage contract and departed as a free agent.
That status, plus a best campaign of 10 goals and seven assists in 36 Premier League matches, attracted competition. The 29-year-old chose the club who were willing to pay a fee for him last year.
Silence since the move first emerged has stirred memories for supporters. Daniel James saw a January 2019 switch from Swansea collapse after photographs at Elland Road, while Fulham made a late Wilson U-turn last summer.
The hold-up is described as logistical, centred on scheduling and getting him into the building, with no suggestion of anything untoward.
Once confirmed, Wilson can link up with Wales team-mates for pre-season later this month. Leeds head to the USA for games against Wrexham, Sunderland and Liverpool.
Supporters will likely get a first look there before Elland Road dates with RB Leipzig on August eight and FB Augsburg on August 15, either side of a Dublin trip to face Manchester United.
