Grêmio are close to a deal for Huracán midfielder Leonel Pérez after moving forward with Juan Nardoni. Talks have accelerated in recent hours, with only final details to settle and documents being exchanged.

Director of football Rafael Lima said the club are reviewing the contracts and working to finalise as quickly as possible so the players can join the squad.

Pérez, 21, is a right-footed holding midfielder who usually operates at the base of midfield. He stands 1.86 metres tall.

He made his professional debut in 2025 and has played 38 matches for Huracán, the club where he came through, scoring once.

He has yet to feature this year. He was named in the squad for the opening round of the Torneio Abertura and remained on the bench for the 1-1 draw at Banfield, then was not available for the next two games against Independiente Rivadávia and Atlético Tucumán.
