Guardiola expects ‘incredible’ Man City star to stay in January | OneFootball

Pep Guardiola says he does not expect James Trafford to leave Manchester City in January.

The goalkeeper started the season as first choice before losing his spot to Gianluigi Donnarumma.

But Guardiola says he expects Trafford to stay until at least the end of the season.

“He’s an incredible keeper,” Guardiola said.

“Unfortunately (for him) Gigi is the first keeper, but he’s incredible.

“I know the position of goalkeeper is so special. During the year, in one game, you can change, but the keeper is special.

“But, of course, he’s with us. He’ll be with us this season. And after, we’ll see what happens.”

“I don’t have any news about that (talk of leaving) regarding him.

“Before Txiki (Begiristain), now Hugo (Viana), you have his telephone number. You can call him and ask him.

“But from my point of view, I don’t know anything. Stay here.”
