Abdukodir Khusanov is in line to return to action when Manchester City face Swansea in the Carabao Cup, boss Pep Guardiola says.
The defender has been sidelined since the draw with Arsenal last month but Guardiola says he is ready to play a small part against the Championship side on Wednesday.
“Khusanov is ready to play a few minutes tomorrow,” Guardiola said.
Meanwhile, Guardiola is again set to rest Erling Haaland after the striker suffered a knock against Aston Villa.
“Erling, I didn’t see him today, but I think it’s a knock and day by day he is better,” Guardiola said.
“We train this afternoon and I’ll know more about exactly how he feels.”
Asked if it is a chance to rest Haaland, the City boss replied: “Yeah.
“Carabao Cup has always been like that in the first stages. Some rest for the players who play a lot of minutes, not just Erling.
“We have players who need minutes and the Carabao Cup is perfect for that.”
Rodri is back in training with his City team-mates but will not play against Swansea, with Guardiola remaining cautious with the Spaniard.
“Rodri is still out,” Guardiola said. “He’s getting better, training with us partially but of course after what happened two times with the injuries, we are going to see how he evolves this week I would say.
“Hopefully soon but not yet.”
Guardiola also confirmed that Rayan Ait-Nouri is available for selection again after more than a month out.
