Gustavo Gómez will make his 385th Palmeiras appearance on Wednesday against Vitória, moving clear as the squad’s appearance leader after Raphael Veiga’s loan to América-MEX, according to Nosso Palestra.
The captain had been level with Veiga on 384, and the landmark arrives in the first match since the No 23 was unveiled at América on Tuesday.
Gómez is the only player in the present group beyond 300 appearances, now on 384. Piquerez has 227, Murilo 202 and Flaco López 187, the only others past 100.
Since January 2025, Weverton, Mayke, Marcos Rocha, Anibal Moreno, Gabriel Menino, Zé Rafael and Rony have departed after topping 100 games.
Signed in 2018, the Paraguayan has become a leading figure and serial winner, sitting behind only Dudu, Weverton and Marcos in the club’s 21st-century list.
He also leads all outfield players worldwide for minutes since 2020, with 319 matches and 28,194 minutes from 2020 to 2025, ahead of Bruno Fernandes on 27,634 minutes in 327 games, Otamendi on 26,791 in 304 and Harry Kane on 25,680 in 309.
Gómez said he was pleased, praising the club’s structure and medical staff, and hopes to keep helping Palmeiras and Paraguay.
He has won 12 trophies with the club, level with Weverton, Marcos Rocha, Mayke, Dudu, Ademir da Guia and Junqueira. He is the club’s top-scoring centre-back with 43 goals, ahead of Luís Pereira on 36, and the foreigner with the most appearances, 379 since 2018, followed by Arce and Valdivia on 241.
