Gustavo Henrique suffers third muscle injury in six months, ruled out for Santos | OneFootball

Santos will once again be without Gustavo Henrique after the 21-year-old suffered his third muscle injury in six months.

He felt his right thigh early in the second half of last Thursday’s 2-1 defeat to Botafogo at the Engenhão, which marked the Brasileirão’s return, and was replaced by Oliva. According to Globo.com, tests on Friday confirmed a right biceps femoris injury and no timeframe has been given for his return.

In April, during the first leg against Coritiba, he departed in the opening half with left thigh pain. He was diagnosed with a left adductor injury and missed five matches.

In January, he also sat out five games due to an adductor problem in his right thigh. The recurrence has already cost him more than half of Santos’ fixtures this year.

In 2026 he has featured in 16 of 36 matches, starting 13.

Santos visit Universidad Central da Venezuela in Valencia on Tuesday at 21:30, Brasília time, for the first leg of the Conmebol Sudamericana play-off. The team travels on Monday morning without Gustavo Henrique.
