Harry Kane has trained with the rest of the Bayern Munich squad ahead of their blockbuster clash against Real Madrid on Tuesday night, The Standard reports.

The European juggernauts are scheduled to lock horns in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie at Santiago Bernabeu.

Kane had emerged as a major doubt after he was forced off in England’s 1-0 international friendly defeat to Japan on Tuesday.

England head coach Thomas Tuchel described it as a “minor injury” that came “out of nothing”. But it was enough to keep Kane out of Bayern’s most recent outing.

“It’s a minor injury from basically out of nothing,” Tuchel said. “He had to step out of training yesterday after 15 minutes. No chance to be involved, not even today. He is being further assessed now.”

Bayern manager Vincent Kompany then confirmed that Kane had suffered an ankle injury that ruled him out of Saturday’s trip to SC Freiburg.

However, the Belgian was confident that his elite striker wouldn’t spend too long out of the loop.

“Harry trained well until Sunday, then he felt something in his ankle while with the national team,” Kompany said.

“That will have an impact on tomorrow’s game, he won’t be available.

“Nevertheless, I’m positive about Tuesday. It’s not great, I’d like him to play against Freiburg, but as things stand today that won’t be possible.”

Bayern were able to get by without their marksman but were forced to do it the hard way.

Freiburg looked destined to claim a rare win over Bayern after establishing a 2-0 lead with just 19 minutes of normal time left.

However, it was enough for the champions to mount a spectacular comeback as Kompany’s troops turned the dial in the dying embers.

A stunning double from Tom Bischof got Bayern level in stoppage time before the highly rated Lennart Karl snatched the winner with a last-gasp strike.

Fortunately for Kompany, he’ll be able to call on Kane for tomorrow’s trip to the Spanish capital.

The England captain couldn’t have picked a better time to shake off his ankle setback. He reportedly took part in Monday’s training session and should be fit to face Madrid tomorrow.
