Wolves fans face more than 5,000 miles of Championship travel after the EFL fixtures were released today.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 23 away league trips amount to about 5,002 miles in round journeys from Molineux. Wolves will be hoping to secure an immediate return to the top flight under new boss Cesar Peixoto. Their supporters are expected to back the team on the road.

There are several shorter hops, with local clashes against West Brom, Birmingham City and Stoke City. But the schedule also includes a series of long hauls, including four visits to London.

The capital assignments at Charlton Athletic, Millwall, Queens Park Rangers and West Ham United come in at 308, 304, 272 and 302 miles respectively. Together, those journeys make up more than a fifth of the potential total.

Norwich City is the longest round trip at 358 miles, narrowly ahead of Portsmouth on 354 and Middlesbrough on 346.

At the other end, West Brom is a 22-mile round trip, Birmingham City 38 and Stoke City 68. Supporters will have plenty of new away days to look forward to after an eight-year Premier League stay ended with relegation to the Championship.
