It has been a complicated start to life at Roma for veteran defender Mats Hummels.

Hummels is the only player in the Roma squad still waiting to make his debut in the Giallorossi jersey despite the calendar telling us that we are approaching November.

According to today’s edition of Il Messaggero, in the hours following the end of the match against Dynamo Kyiv, the 35-year-old defender was intercepted by some Roma fans in Trastevere to whom he confided these words: “I don’t know why I didn’t play. I’m at the coach’s disposal, if they let me play I’ll be there.”

However, it’s difficult to understand when his moment will arrive: last night’s match was supposed to be, on paper, the “easiest” of the next ones.

Juric doesn’t seem to trust him, not even in a match within the reach of the Giallorossi.

Hummels will therefore have to arm himself with patience and work even harder if he wants to have his chance in the Capital.
