The departure of the young midfielder Dro Fernandez was one of the main highlights of the last winter transfer window for FC Barcelona. His exit from the Catalan club came as a surprise for the footballing world in general, and for the Blaugrana club in particular.

Now, a few weeks after joining Paris Saint-Germain, the youngster has made his first start for the French side and put in a very good performance for Luis Enrique’s side.

As SPORT has reported, Dro also talked to the media after this game, and talked about the progress he is making at the Ligue 1 club, while also taking a veiled aim at Barcelona for not guaranteeing him a lot of minutes:

“Personally, I felt good. I’m progressing little by little. I came here to play, to get minutes, and to regain rhythm. I’m very happy with the team’s victory.”

The youngster also reiterated his belief that he has made the right decision in joining PSG:

“Honestly, I expected a lower level. I’m very surprised by the league. In every match, the opponents are strong and tough. I have to keep working to succeed.”

Numerous injuries in the PSG squad have allowed Luis Enrique to give his first start to Dro Fernandez, who took full advantage of this opportunity. For now, it remains to be seen whether Barcelona will regret his departure in the coming months and years.
