According to Christian Falk, Liverpool are interested in FC Midtjylland striker Franculino Dju and will challenge Bayern Munich for the 21-year-old's signature.
Borussia Dortmund are also named as an interested party, so the Reds will face plenty of competition.
Valued at €16.5 million by Football Transfers, Dju will reportedly be available for a fee of around €30 million (~£26.3m) and a move could happen in January.
FC Midtjylland are open to selling their scoring sensation who joined on a free transfer from Benfica’s academy in 2023.
The 21-year-old has been capped 14 times by Guinea-Bissau and has scored 21 goals in 30 appearances for FC Midtjylland this season.
Averaging a goal or assist every 86 minutes, it is clear to see why some of Europe’s top sides are interested in the forward, who is capable of playing both as a striker and on the right-wing.
Importantly for Liverpool, Guinea-Bissau did not qualify for this year’s Africa Cup of Nations, and therefore Franculino would be available as cover for Mohamed Salah if a deal is done early in January.
The addition of a forward in red hot form could be exactly the boost that Slot needs to get the Reds’ season back on track and Franculino represents a cheaper alternative to the likes of Antoine Semenyo and Yan Diomande who have been linked with Merseyside moves.
It remains to be seen if Liverpool will act on their interest, but Franculino Dju is definitely a player to keep an eye on heading into January.
