Inter Miami was received at the White House this Thursday. As 2025 MLS champions, the Florida franchise’s players met with Donald Trump in Washington, just months ahead of the 2026 World Cup set to take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. During the ceremony, the American president made a special point to honor Lionel Messi.

"Many great players come here. They don’t play badly, but they don’t win. But Leo, you came here and you won. And you were under more pressure than anyone else," Trump declared, sharing a quick anecdote about his son along the way: "He told me, 'Do you know who’s going to be here today?' I answered, 'No, I’ve got a lot on my plate.'"
