Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Inter Milan are closing in on a deal to sign Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel, with the 32-year-old heading for an exit from Rome.

Provedel has largely been first choice since joining from Spezia in June 2022, though Christos Mandas displaced him late in 2024/25. Maurizio Sarri then returned last summer and restored him as first choice.

He delivered 11 clean sheets in 27 Serie A matches this season before a March shoulder operation curtailed his campaign. That absence opened the door for Edoardo Motta, who impressed, notably in the Coppa Italia semi-final shootouts against Atalanta.

With Mandas back from an unsuccessful loan at Bournemouth and Motta seen as a long-term solution, Lazio have deemed Provedel surplus. His contract expires next year.

The goalkeeper’s representative has held talks with Lazio at Formello as both sides look to end their collaboration and ease a switch to San Siro. An agreement worth €2-3 million is expected. Provedel will initially back up Josep Martinez, who has been identified as Inter’s new first-choice goalkeeper after overtaking the departing Yann Sommer.
