Italian outlet FCInterNerws report that the initial signs from the Nerazzurri medical staff point to the Turk having suffered a contracture in the adductor muscle of his left thigh.

Calhanoglu was in the Inter starting eleven for this evening’s Serie A match away to Roma.

It was hardly a surprise to see the 30-year-old in the lineup.

Calhanoglu is a key player for Inter. He is the first-choice option in holding midfield for the Nerazzurri.

Calhanoglu has been outstanding in the deep-lying role for a couple of seasons.

This saw the Turkish international make the thirty-player shortlist for this season’s Ballon D’Or.

Naturally, this makes Calhanoglu a hard player for Inter to do without.
