Marcus Thuram delivered a short but pointed message ahead for Inter Milan ahead of the Derby d’Italia showdown against Juventus.

Speaking to Inter TV, via FCInterNews, roughly an hour before kick-off, the French striker stressed the importance of focus and discipline.

The match kicks off at 20:45 local time (19:45 GMT) at San Siro in Milan.

It is an important game for both sides, with Juventus attempting to consolidate a Champions League place.

Meanwhile, Inter look to extend their lead at the top of Serie A.

“We’ll need a serious Inter, very attentive to detail like we’ve been in recent weeks,” Thuram stated.

The Nerazzurri forward also spoke to Sky Sport shortly before the match, outlining the team’s mindset heading into one of the biggest fixtures of the season.

When asked what the squad discussed in the build-up to the match, Thuram kept things simple.

“What we’ve been doing recently, we want to bring the three points home.”

On the threat posed by Juventus, the Frenchman underlined the all-round quality of the Bianconeri.

“A bit of everything. They are strong and have a strong coach. They can do a bit of everything. It won’t be an easy game, but we have to play like we always do and prove it on the pitch.”

Thuram also acknowledged the emotional weight of the fixture.

“Yes, there’s history. For the fans it’s always a special match.”

With his brother Khephren unavailable for Juventus, Thuram was asked about divided loyalties in the family.

“My father supports whoever he wants, I play,” he replied with a smile.
