According to a report from Foot Mercato, Stade Rennais midfielder Glen Kamara (29) is attracting interest from England.
The Finnish international has had an unhappy time since making the move from Leeds United to Rennes over the 2024 summer transfer window. He was recruited for a €10m fee, but has so far failed to live up to the investment, and last season was shipped out on loan to Al Shabab in the winter transfer window.
His six-month loan came to an end this summer, when he returned to Rennes. However, his situation has not changed, even under a new manager, Habib Beye. Kamara has not played a minute of football for Rennes this season, and it appears likely that he will leave in the winter window.
OGC Nice reportedly were interested in a ‘joker’ transfer and approached Rennes, but Foot Mercato writes that this did not progress very far. Nice could return in January for the midfielder, but they are not the only club interested. England could provide a landing spot for the midfielder, with Championship sides Ipswich and Leicester City linked to the international.
Rennes reportedly want around €3m for the player, but are willing to accept that they may have to make concessions, either lowering their fee or by accepting a loan to buy offer.
