Inter Milan striker Mehdi Taremi remains a fitness doubt for this Sunday evening’s derby clash with AC Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Iranian is being evaluated for an abdominal problem.
Inter take on city rivals AC Milan in the derby this Sunday.
The match will be the second Serie A meeting between the two city rivals this season. And the third overall, with the pair having also faced off in the Supercoppa Italiana final earlier this month.
The Rossoneri won both the previous meetings this season. That followed a sequence of six straight derby victories by Inter.
Therefore, there will be plenty of hunger on the part of the Nerazzurri to get some revenge.
The Corriere report that it is not yet certain whether or not Inter striker Mehdi Taremi will be available for Sunday’s match.
The 32-year-old missed out on Inter’s last match, a Champions League win over Monaco.

The reason for Taremi’s absence had been some abdominal discomfort.
And according to the Corriere, Mehdi Taremi is still touch-and-go.
Therefore, assessments with the Inter medical staff over the next day or two will be decisive.
