Jamir Carragher refuses to call Moises Caicedo the best midfielder in the Premier League right now after his wonder goal.
Carragher had to watch on as Chelsea beat his beloved Liverpool team on Saturday night, with the first goal being a superb shot from Caicedo to put The Blues 1-0 up at half time.
We have just written an article with the full reactions from Carragher on the game and he was actually full of compliments for manager Enzo Maresca.
And Caicedo has been getting a lot of praise from pundits alike, with Gary Neville actually calling him the best current midfielder in the Premier League over the likes of Declan Rice.
However, Carragher disagrees with his Sky Sports colleague and is refusing to say Caicedo is the best. So is it a Liverpool player that Carragher thinks is better? Nope, an Arsenal one….

In words cited on X, Carragher said:
“If you are talking all round midfielder, Declan Rice would just pip Caicedo for me; I think he’s just got a little bit of extra quality with the ball, but there’s no doubt since I’d say Christmas he’s been as good as anybody.”
If you are looking at current form, Caicedo is the best midfielder in the league and maybe even the world. If you are looking at all round play and contributions, then Caicedo is your guy. Of course I am biased but Caicedo is so criminally under-looked by far too many and he has been so consistently good all over the pitch in these last two seasons that he simply has to get put on the top of the pile of anyone else mentioned even close to his level right now. And that comes from someone who highly rates Declan Rice.
