Jeremy Jacquet set for Liverpool medical ahead of £60m move

Liverpool are close to signing Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet with the player set undergo a medical at the club.

According to various reports, the Reds are set to pay an initial £55 million for the midfielder with the potential for a further £5 million in add-ons.

Jacquet is expected to sign a contract with Liverpool until the end of the 2030/31 season and will stay at Rennes for the rest of the season before linking up with the Reds for the next campaign.

The 20-year-old has come through the academy at Rennes and is currently enjoying his first full season in Ligue 1 having previously spent time on loan at second-tier Clermont Foot.

So far this season, the French youth international has played 19 games in all competitions for his club and also received a red card in his side's 5-0 defeat away to Paris Saint-Germain back in December.
