João Carlos Mansur, a Palmeiras councillor and member of the COF (Conselho de Orientação e Fiscalização), has requested a 90-day leave from his roles.
According to Nosso Palestra, the founder and former CEO of Reag Investimentos is a target of a Ministério Público de São Paulo (MPSP) operation over an alleged fuel fraud.
The operation was launched in August last year. From the outset, some Palmeiras councillors pressed for Mansur to leave to protect the club’s image. With no legal basis for a formal removal, talks culminated on Friday 13.
Reag Investimentos was first named in August 2025 in an alleged scheme in the fuel sector. In January this year, Banco Central liquidated the company, citing violations of SFN (Sistema Financeiro Nacional) rules.
The authorities’ investigations remain ongoing. Mansur was approached for comment but did not respond.
