João Carlos Mansur has taken a 90-day leave from his roles on Palmeiras’ Conselho Deliberativo and the Conselho de Orientação e Fiscalização. The move comes amid investigations involving Reag Investimentos, which he founded and led as CEO.
The possibility of a leave had been discussed among councillors and was first reported by Itatiaia. It was signalled to council president Alcyr Ramos on Friday, then formalised shortly after by email. Mansur has stressed the investigations are personal and do not involve the club.
Reag Investimentos is a target of a major São Paulo state prosecution operation into alleged multi-billion fuel-sector fraud. Operação Carbono Oculto was launched by the Federal Police in August 2025.
In January, the second phase of Operação Compliance Zero also targeted the company, investigating irregularities in the financial system and the role of figures linked to Reag in the Banco Master scheme. The firm is suspected of structuring and managing funds that moved resources atypically, and Mansur is among those under investigation.
During Mansur’s 90-day absence, a substitute from his slate will occupy his seat on the Conselho Deliberativo, identified as Fernando Dedivitis. On the Conselho Fiscal, seven alternates rotate at meetings and will also cover the vacancy. Mansur has been approached for comment via Reag, and any response will be added.
