After Chelsea reached an agreement to sign Brighton forward Joao Pedro, Kaveh Solhekol reports that the Brazilian is currently travelling to the US where he will undergo a medical before joining Enzo Maresca’s side for a reported £60m.
The 23-year-old will sign a seven-year contract with Chelsea, who hope to register the player ahead of their quarter-final against Palmeiras on Friday. The registration period is open until Thursday, and there’s optimism that the Blues will be able to complete a deal by then.
Joao Pedro scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 27 Premier League games for Brighton last season. The Seagulls will receive around double the £30m that Brighton paid Watford in 2023.
Chelsea’s agreement has also been confirmed by David Ornstein. Joao Pedro becomes the latest forward to sign for the London club after Liam Delap. Per Transfermarkt, Chelsea have already spent €115m on arrivals this summer.
