Joey Saputo an honourary Bologna citizen

This afternoon, the City Council unanimously agreed (31 votes of 31) to offer Bologna FC 1909 President, Joey Saputo, honourary Bologna citizenship as proposed by Mayor Matteo Lepore.

“I have already been able to thank Mayor Lepore when he proposed for me to become an honourary citizen”, stated Joey Saputo, “and today I want to extend my gratitude to the entire City Council for having voted unanimously. It is a great honour and source of pride to become a Bologna citizen, I have felt like a part of this community for a while. The day of the official ceremony will be hugely emotional, I will be able to express myself as a Bologna citizen”.
