Joselu, former Real Madrid striker, a free agent option for top-flight clubs

Joselu is a free agent after his Al-Gharafa contract expired, presenting an experienced option for top-flight clubs.

According to Superdeporte, the 36-year-old is not considering retirement and wants a return to European football, ideally Spain.

He left Real Madrid in 2024, scoring 17 goals in 49 games despite not being a regular starter. He also delivered the winner against Bayern in the Champions League semi-final second leg. That campaign attracted interest from Spanish clubs before his move to Qatar.

In Qatar he recorded 28 goals and four assists in 59 matches across two seasons with Al-Gharafa.

Earlier spells included Celta de Vigo, Deportivo A Coruña, Newcastle, Deportivo Alavés and Espanyol. At Alavés he hit 36 goals and 10 assists across three campaigns, then struck 17 in 38 for Espanyol.
