FLW looks at the Burnley players who will leave the club in the summer of 2025 as it stands

After their relegation from the Premier League, it was predictably a busy summer of transfer activity at Turf Moor with a huge turnover in players from the previous season, but Scott Parker has helped Burnley enjoy a decent start to the new campaign.

It's common for clubs relegated from the Premier League to see huge upheaval during the summer transfer window as players look to move away in a bid to avoid playing Championship football, but the Clarets still have a decent squad thanks to their summer signings, and look well-placed to compete for an immediate return to the top-flight.

However, Parker and Burnley's hierarchy will be aware that they have a number of key players who are set to depart the club next summer if no action is taken, and will be looking to avoid another mass exodus after this summer.

With that in mind, here are the eight Burnley players who are set to leave the club at the end of the season.

Josh Brownhill

Burnley skipper Josh Brownhill sees his contract expire next summer after the club triggered a one-year extension back in May, with his contract initially set to expire in the summer of 2024.

The midfielder was set to become a free agent, but the club activated a 12-month extension clause, meaning that Brownhill remained a Burnley player for the 24/25 campaign.

The 28-year-old has proved an excellent signing since he moved to the club from Bristol City in January 2020, and he's made a bright start to the season, so he's someone that the club would want to keep, regardless of what division they're in next season.

Welsh international Roberts signed a four-year deal with the Clarets when he joined the club from Swansea City in the summer of 2021, so he's set to leave on a free transfer next summer.

The right-back spent time on loan at Leeds United last season, but he's been a regular starter for the Clarets since returning to the club in the summer, and looks to have nailed down his position as a regular starter in Parker's side.

The 28-year-old looks set to break the 100-appearance mark for the Clarets this season, but it remains to be seen whether he'll be a Burnley player this time next year.

Nathan Redmond

Nathan Redmond signed a two-year deal with the Clarets after leaving Besiktas in the summer of 2023, although the Clarets do hold the option to extend his deal by a further 12 months.

However, no extension has yet been activated, and as it stands, he's set to leave the club in the summer of 2025.

The 30-year-old's time at Turf Moor has been a difficult one, and he's struggled for regular playing time thanks to injury, so it perhaps wouldn't be a huge surprise if the club didn't activate the extension clause, and he left next summer.

Jay Rodriguez

Former England international striker Jay Rodriguez sees his deal expire at Turf Moor next summer after signing a one-year contract extension back in May.

The 35-year-old's contract was set to expire last summer, but he signed a new deal following the club's relegation and looks set to play an important role at the club, despite his age.

The one-cap England international has shown no signs of slowing down, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him offered a new deal at Turf Moor if he continues to play an important role for Parker's side.

Jeremy Sarmiento

Brighton winger Jeremy Sarmiento completed a season-long loan deal to join Burnley on deadline day, and will be looking to make it two consecutive promotions from the Championship.

The 22-year-old spent time with both West Brom and Ipswich last season, helping the latter to win promotion to the top-flight.

There is no option to buy the Ecuadorian winger, and he's set to return to the Amex Stadium with Brighton after his season-long loan spell comes to an end next summer.

Jaidon Anthony

Bournemouth winger Jaidon Anthony joined the Clarets on a season-long loan, although they do hold an option to buy him, which means that if he impresses at Turf Moor, he could well become a Burnley player on a full-time basis.

The 24-year-old spent time on loan with Leeds United last season, and he'll be looking to go one better and win promotion this time around, after just missing out with the Whites last year.

After a couple of seasons on loan, Anthony will be looking to impress and earn a permanent deal at Burnley this season.

Zian Flemming

Millwall man Zian Flemming joined the Clarets on a season-long loan, but the club have an obligation to buy him, meaning it's highly likely he'll remain at the club past the summer of 2025.

The Dutchman has impressed in the Championship for Millwall since joining the club back in 2022, and it's not the first time that Burnley have been interested after pursuing him last summer, but they have finally got their man.

Flemming will be looking to help the club win promotion to the top-flight, and it looks highly likely that he'll be at the club past the summer of 2025.

Bashir Humphreys

Chelsea defender Bashir Humphreys has signed a season-long loan deal at Turf Moor, but similarly to Flemming, the club have an obligation to buy.

It remains to be seen what the criteria of the obligation to buy is for both Flemming and Humphreys, and while there is no guarantee they'll be Burnley players past the summer of 2025, it looks likely that they will be.

Humphreys spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Swansea City, where he struggled somewhat for regular minutes, and he'll be looking to impress at Burnley this summer with the potential of a long-term future at the club.
