Members of the respective first-team ranks at Barcelona and Real Madrid are primed to make history on Sunday evening.

This comes after Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford were named as starters for the latest edition of El Clásico.

Spanish football’s headline fixture is of course primed to play out in short order.

The matchup will see table-topping Real Madrid act as hosts, in welcoming reigning champions Barcelona to the Santiago Bernabéu for a La Liga clash.

For the former, the aforementioned Jude Bellingham has been afforded a starting berth, in the middle of the park.

Fellow countryman Marcus Rashford, meanwhile, is in from the off for visitors Barca, joining Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres in attack.

And owing to as much, the pair have made history.

As revealed by The Guardian, Sunday’s clash marks the first time ever that British players will face off against one another in a La Liga meeting between Real Madrid and Barcelona.
