The SPFL takes a back seat once more this weekend as Celtic welcome Dundee in the Scottish Cup on Saturday evening.
However, while it could be described as a break from league action, there’s no change in approach to the game from the Celts and new Bhoy, Julian Araujo is certainly looking forward to making his Scottish Cup bow.
The defender said: “It’s just as important as the league. Celtic is a team that wants to win very competition, and I think this is a very important game.
“We’re going to go out there and obviously play our game style.
“We know that Dundee are going to come and try to break us down, but we have to maintain and stick to our principles.”
It’s another game in the settling in process for the California-born Mexican internationalist, who made the move to Celtic from Bournemouth during the recent transfer window.
Araujo said: “Obviously, coming here I was looking forward to getting minutes.
‘It’s credit to all the staff, the coaching staff and to my team-mates that they made it very easy to adjust.’
“It’s not easy coming to a whole different country without any support on the family side. It’s a whole different culture but I think it’s been a really easy adjustment.
“I’m very excited to keep going, it’s a big club, so I’m just happy to be here and to be able to give a little part of what I can do.”
Araujo has picked up many plaudits in his games so far for the Hoops, and he is confident that there is more to come in his displays in green and white.
He added: “I feel that I still have a little bit more in me. I find times when I feel tired, where before I felt that I could dominate the game a little bit more physically.
“But obviously, before coming to Celtic I put myself in a position every day, even after not being in squads at Bournemouth, I put myself in positions as I knew that come the transfer window I wanted to get my move.
“So, for me, it was just doing everything for myself, putting myself in the best position physically and mentally
“And obviously coming here, I’m very grateful to Celtic, to this club to give me this chance and hopefully I can continue to provide more.”
