Juventus’ 4-4 draw against Dortmund shows their good and bad side | OneFootball

Serie A side Juventus played out a thrilling 4-4 draw against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League today, grabbing two stoppage time goals to come back from 4-2 down and grab a vital point.

There was controversy for the German side’s fourth goal, as the ball had touched Lloyd Kelly’s supporting arm when he was going down, but the Englishman redeemed himself with a last minute header to help his side to a draw.

It was Juve’s second thrilling game in a row, having also beaten Inter 4-3 in the previous Serie A game.

While this has been enthralling for neutrals, it wouldn’t be too impressive for Igor Tudor. He wouldn’t mind the points but he would be fuming at the state of statue-esque defending from his side at times. This was clear during the Inter game and even today, as Dortmund found it easy to pick them apart every time they countered.

Whether Tudor deals with this problem using a change in setup or starting Manuel Locatelli constantly remains to be seen. But there is also an over-reliance on the mercurial Kenan Yildiz, who dazzled again after his heroics against the Nerazzurri. This over dependency might have to reduce, with Dusan Vlahovic also being relied on to score goals.

The other side is the positive one and it upholds the club’s ‘Fino alla fine’ slogan, as the players seem to have this newfound belief that they can get something out of every game.

This has perhaps grown in the last few months but is now coming to fore firmly, as they also scored in the 73rd minute against Genoa earlier in the campaign. Something is definitely coming together in Turin that resembles the Juve side of the old, but Tudor only needs to fit some key pieces together.
