New Barcelona signing Karim Adeyemi has cited the influence of Hansi Flick in his decision to join the Catalan giants. The 24-year-old recently completed his move from Borussia Dortmund after four seasons in the Bundesliga. Adeyemi now begins a fresh chapter under Flick, who previously worked with the attacker while serving as Germany head coach.

Adeyemi was capped four times under Flick in the 2021 calendar year. It was during his debut match, a World Cup qualifier against Armenia in September of that year, that Adeyemi scored his lone goal for country.

“I spoke with him and have full confidence in him,” Adeyemi noted during his introductory Barcelona remarks. “He told me what this club needs, and I’m ready to do whatever the team needs to achieve its goals.”

“Flick can count on me to give my all for him, for the team, and for the fans,” Adeyemi continued. “I’m ready to give it all for this ‘family’ in which everyone sticks together.”
