Konyaspor are reported to be targeting Sunderland left-back Arthur Masuaku this summer. According to Yeni Açık, the Super Lig club have identified the 32-year-old as a possible addition.

Masuaku joined Sunderland from Beşiktaş last summer, returning to England after a spell with West Ham United in the Premier League. The DR Congo international was signed to add experience on the left of Régis Le Bris’ squad but did not establish himself as a regular.

He moved to RC Lens on loan in January, spending the rest of the 25-26 campaign in Ligue 1. His long-term role on Wearside now appears uncertain as Sunderland reshape for Premier League, Europa League and domestic cup commitments.

Reinildo Mandava is among Le Bris’ established options at left-back. Aji Alese and Leo Hjelde can also cover that side, though whether both are ready for the Premier League remains to be seen.

Sunderland are expected to listen to suitable offers for players unlikely to feature regularly, with outgoing deals important under Premier League and UEFA squad-cost rules.

Masuaku already knows football in Türkiye after his time with Beşiktaş, which could appeal to Konyaspor as they assess defensive options.
