Labyad could return for Corinthians against Coritiba

Moroccan midfielder Zakaria Labyad could be a new addition to Corinthians' squad for the next round of the Brazilian Championship. After a series of training sessions at the CT, the player is getting closer to his first opportunity under coach Dorival Júnior.

The athlete hasn’t played since November 2025, when he made his last appearances for Dalian Yingbo in China. Since arriving at Parque São Jorge in February, Labyad has been undergoing a period of physical reconditioning. According to the report’s findings, his recent performances in training have been considered positive.

At 32 years old, the Moroccan joins the São Paulo club with the mission of especially strengthening the offensive sector of the midfield. Last season, the player recorded ten direct goal involvements over 25 matches played.

One of the highlights of his career occurred in the 2017/18 season, when he played for FC Utrecht in the Netherlands. During that period, the midfielder scored 15 goals and also contributed nine assists.

Corinthians return to the field on March 11th to face Coritiba at 9:30 PM at Neo Química Arena, for the fifth round of the Brasileirão. At this moment, the team led by Dorival occupies third place in the table, with seven points, three behind Palmeiras and São Paulo, who lead the competition.
