Lazio have sold Matias Vecino to Celta Vigo on a permanent deal, subject to international clearance, the club said in a statement.

The move capped a low-key deadline day after five busy weeks, with only one incoming announced on Monday, 16-year-old Slovenian defender Blaz Kovac for the youth set-up.

Tijjani Noslin, Reda Belahyane and Nuno Tavares remained, though departures cannot be ruled out because some markets, including Türkiye, remain open. Besiktas can still sign Tavares until six February.

The Uruguayan midfielder has played in Italy since joining Fiorentina in January 2013, later featuring for Cagliari, Empoli and Inter Milan.

He joined Lazio as a free agent in summer 2022 and made 128 appearances, scoring 13 goals. He signed a one-year extension with an option for a second at the end of last season, but the parties have now opted to part ways midway through the campaign.
