Leeds United are exploring a free move for Julian Brandt as they prioritise attacking reinforcements this summer, yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk understands.

The 30-year-old is set to depart Borussia Dortmund as a free agent this summer after 57 goals and 70 assists in 307 games. He has more than 380 Bundesliga appearances and 48 Germany caps, plus over 80 Champions League outings.

Leeds believe they are among several options for Brandt, with at least one Champions League club also keen to sign him on a free.

Brandt's flexibility suits Leeds' plan to bolster midfield and forward areas. He has operated as a number 10, in central midfield and on both flanks. His career began at Wolfsburg, then Bayer Leverkusen, before a €25m switch to Dortmund in 2019.

Leeds are also monitoring Shea Charles this summer. The central midfielder has impressed with Northern Ireland and contributed to Southampton's run to last season's Championship play-offs.
