According to yorkshireevenpost.co.uk, Daniel Farke has named his Leeds United XI for the final home match against Brighton, with captain Ethan Ampadu starting after illness, while Pascal Struijk misses out. Sebastiaan Bornauw starts as the only change from Tottenham, and Dan James begins again, seemingly at wing back.
Farke said on Friday that Ampadu was a major doubt and had not trained. He also flagged Struijk as a doubt after a hip issue and listed Noah Okafor, Gabi Gudmundsson, Jayden Bogle and Ilia Gruev, who is out for the season, as unavailable, with Facundo Buonanotte ineligible against his parent club.
Struijk started at Tottenham despite a hip knock but was withdrawn midway through the second half. He now misses the squad here.
Young centre-back Alfie Cresswell makes the bench for the first time, with Rhys Chadwick and Jayden Lienou also among the substitutes. High-flying Brighton have won seven of their last 10, and Fabian Hurzeler makes one enforced change as Joel Veltman comes in for the injured Kaoru Mitoma. Former Leeds forward Georginio Rutter is on the visitors’ bench.
Leeds United vs Brighton: Darlow, James, Rodon, Bijol, Bornauw, Justin, Ampadu, Tanaka, Stach, Aaronson, Calvert-Lewin. Subs, Perri, Byram, Lienou, Cresswell, Longstaff, Chadwick, Gnonto, Piroe, Nmecha.
