According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds have been given a major lift in their Premier League survival bid after West Ham’s setback at Brentford, following the Whites’ 3-1 home win over already-relegated Burnley on Friday night.
That victory left Leeds nine points clear of third-bottom Tottenham Hotspur with four games remaining for Spurs, and seven ahead of fourth-bottom West Ham, who also had four to play.
West Ham were next up on Saturday afternoon at Brentford. The Hammers had lost just one of their previous six Premier League matches, but Brentford won 3-0 to climb into sixth and leave them in danger of slipping into the relegation zone.
For Leeds, they remain ahead of West Ham, and both clubs now have three matches left. The Irons host title-chasing Arsenal in their next fixture.
West Ham stay two points above third-bottom Tottenham, but Spurs can move out of the drop zone and above them with a win in their game in hand at Aston Villa on Sunday night.
