Leeds United assess January plans after Buonanotte loan and Strand Larsen enquiry | OneFootball

Leeds United remain active after sealing Facundo Buonanotte on loan, and have asked about Jørgen Strand Larsen.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the Brighton attacker finalised his move on Thursday after a quiet pursuit. A late Chelsea loan scuppered a summer switch and sparse game time then prompted him to seek a second shot with Leeds.

Leeds targeted a right winger or number 10 and Buonanotte fits. He will compete for starts. With Dominic Calvert-Lewin the focal point and Lukas Nmecha a different profile, Farke has not ruled out another number 9, while James Justin and Ethan Ampadu offer defensive cover.

Leeds have asked about Strand Larsen, with relegation likely looming at Molineux and the Wolves forward attracting attention. They are only at enquiry stage and rival interest from Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest would complicate any deal.

PSR is tight and the club indicated that landing Harry Wilson would have required another lever, potentially a sale before the deadline. Wolves rejected £55m from Newcastle United for Strand Larsen last summer, and a loan to buy or heavily deferred permanent appears most workable.

Outgoings could help, with Joel Piroe courted at home and abroad yet keen to stay, Jack Harrison pursuing a loan to buy to Fiorentina and no current interest in Illan Meslier. Character is central to recruitment and Farke will not disrupt a harmonious group, with Calvert-Lewin’s form making him a starter. Leeds lack presence without him and are a man light after Harry Gray joined Rotherham United on loan.
