Leeds United have lost Ilia Gruev for the rest of the season after a knee meniscus injury in training, as Daniel Farke assesses Anton Stach, Jayden Bogle and Sebastiaan Bornauw before Sunday’s Wembley FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Farke outlined the situation on Thursday.

Gruev’s meniscus damage means he will not feature again this campaign. Farke expects the midfielder to be back for the start of pre-season.

Stach has been out since an unpunished penalty-area challenge at West Ham United in the quarter-final and has not returned to team training. With a few days left, Farke is leaving the door open, saying any chance depends on him rejoining the group in the next 72 hours.

Bogle took a heavy tackle in the first half of the 2-2 draw at Bournemouth on Wednesday and was replaced at the break by Joe Rodon. Farke described the foot knock as not too bad, adding they must wait to see how quickly he recovers and that they hope to have him available.

Bornauw rolled his ankle during the warm-up in midweek, having appeared to collide accidentally with Facundo Buonanotte, then missed the half-time drills. His ankle has been sore and he has not trained with the team, but Farke hopes he can rejoin tomorrow, which would put him in contention.
