Leeds United return to Elland Road for the penultimate time this season, hosting managerless Burnley in the Premier League this evening. The Whites want a response to their FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea, and a win over the already-relegated Clarets would virtually guarantee survival.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Daniel Farke faces interim Mike Jackson after Scott Parker’s Thursday exit. Farke will be without Gabriel Gudmundsson and Ilia Gruev, while Noah Okafor and Jaka Bijol have minor issues, and he was more optimistic than not about their availability.
With that in mind, the predicted XI could see Karl Darlow return in goal after Lucas Perri’s FA Cup outing, with Farke preferring continuity between the posts.
Joe Rodon got 45 minutes at Wembley and is set for a first start since his ankle injury. His covering pace would matter if Leeds dominate the ball and push higher up.
Jaka Bijol reported a hip flexor problem in training, so he is a doubt. If he recovers in time, as hoped, he could start.
Pascal Struijk made a costly mistake against Chelsea but has been excellent across the season, especially in last week’s 2-2 draw at Bournemouth. His distribution will help Leeds build from the back.
On the right, Jayden Bogle has had a couple of below-par displays without major issues and should relish the chance to attack and create.
