Leeds United are being linked with a summer move for Sunderland left-back Dennis Cirkin, whose contract expires at season’s end, Football Insider reports.

Daniel Farke is expected to bolster the position, with Leeds weighing affordable options to add depth and competition.

Cirkin, 24, has been influential on Wearside in recent seasons, winning promotion twice and providing attacking thrust from deep during their climb back to the Premier League.

Sunderland head coach Régis Le Bris has expressed uncertainty over the defender’s future, noting fierce competition at full-back and suggesting an exit is possible if the club and player are not aligned.

Leeds have also been linked with other left-back options, including Matt Targett, who is expected to be a free agent this summer.

Cirkin has made nine appearances this season and has featured only briefly since the FA Cup win at Oxford in February.

Sunderland visit Wolves on Saturday in the Premier League as they look to respond to defeats by Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.
