With seven matches left, Leeds United’s relegation rivals face markedly different run-ins, measured by the average league position of their remaining opponents.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Daniel Farke’s side have gone four games without scoring, although two finished 0-0, and sit four points above the drop after 31 matches.
United are four clear of third-bottom West Ham, three ahead of fourth-bottom Tottenham Hotspur and one in front of fifth-bottom Nottingham Forest. There is a six-point gap to 14th-placed Crystal Palace, who are three points adrift of both Newcastle United and Bournemouth, clubs that already appear pretty much safe on 42 points, a view that might also apply to Palace on 39.
At the foot, bookmakers consider bottom two Wolves and Burnley as good as down, with Burnley nine behind West Ham and Wolves 12 adrift.
Hardest run-in: Crystal Palace, average opponent position ninth.
Joint second-hardest: Nottingham Forest, 10th, and Burnley, 10th.
Next comes Tottenham Hotspur at 11th. West Ham United are rated third easiest at 11th. Wolves have the second easiest at 14th.
