Leeds resume their survival push on Friday night at Elland Road against already relegated Burnley, with team news dominated by injuries. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, four players are out and four more are doubtful, although two have returned.

Burnley were sent down on Wednesday after a 1-0 home defeat to Manchester City, Erling Haaland scoring. The match comes five days after Leeds lost 1-0 to Chelsea at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-finals.

A win would almost certainly secure safety for Daniel Farke’s side, who are 15th and six points above the drop with four games remaining.

Leeds boosts include Anton Stach, who returned to the bench against Chelsea, came on at half-time and impressed, though Farke said he is only ready for 45 minutes. Sebastiaan Bornauw, who rolled his ankle before last week’s trip to Bournemouth, was on the bench at Wembley but did not feature.

For Burnley, Josh Cullen has been out since December’s Everton match with an ACL injury that required surgery, with Scott Parker saying at the time he faced about nine months out. Jordan Beyer remains absent after a meniscus injury against Luton in October 2023 and a hamstring setback last summer.

Connor Roberts has missed the season with an Achilles issue, with Parker noting last month he was in the early stages of recovery and confirming last week he was still unavailable. Leeds midfielder Ilia Gruev is out for the season after a meniscus injury in training before last week’s Bournemouth game.
