Second half strikes from Anis Ben Slimane and Ali Ahmed deepened Leicester City’s woes near the foot of the Championship amid protests prior to Norwich City’s 2-0 victory at the King Power Stadium.
The Tunisian made the desired impact off the bench with a composed finish, after the Canaries headed into the break the stronger side, shortly before Ahmed’s late tap in rounded off an 11th victory in 19 games under Philippe Clement.
Leicester fans held protests against their owners prior to kick off, but it couldn’t motivate the hosts to escape the bottom three with just a second win in 2026, while the Canaries rose to 16th and 11 points clear of the Foxes in 22nd.
Leicester were in need of a bright start and threatened straight away when Fatawu skipped past winger Ahmed on the right but saw his shot well blocked by Ben Chrisene.
But the two sides were evenly matched for the next quarter of an hour, with centre midfielder Harry Winks trying his luck from range and being denied by an uneasy save from Vladan Kovačević.
January signings Ahmed and Paris Maghoma were linking up well down the left hand side and caused Leicester problems, and the latter’s corner was headed just wide by forward Mathias Kvistgaarden 21 minutes in.
The Dane had a free header just six yards from goal, and had his head in his hands after steering it wide of goal.
Former Norwich loanee Oliver Skipp was caught in possession in the middle of the park by Liam Gibbs, who gave Maghoma the chance to run all the way to the edge of the box unchallenged and test Jakub Stolarczyk.
The last minute addition, coming in to replace Azmir Begovic after getting injured in the warmup, managed to steer the side-footed shot around the post with a fingertip save.
The hosts really struggled to keep tabs on Maghoma, who was at the heart of Norwich’s attacks as they ended the first half much the better side.
Stolarczyk was called upon for a second time to thwart the man of the hour Maghoma from a tight angle on the left, after he shook off Pereira
Ahmed then set up Kvistgaarden with a chance to break the deadlock after Leicester dozed off and failed to deal with a loose ball from a header forward, but it was well blocked.
For all their dominance, Norwich hearts were suddenly in mouths when Kovačević was almost caught out dwelling on the ball inside his own penalty area by Patson Daka but he was unable to get the ball out of his feet.
Substitute Anis Ben Slimane came closest to the opener when he forced Stolarczyk into a fantastic reaction save to palm away his low shot that seemed destined for the bottom left corner.
But the Tunisian was not to be denied, as Sam Field rolled a neat ball into the attacking midfielder who sidestepped the defender and instinctually powered his second attempt past the goalkeeper to deepen Leicester’s woes.
Their situation grew dire when they were caught out by a quick free kick routine, and Kellen Fisher’s blocked cross fell to academy graduate Errol Mundle-Smith to slide the ball across for Ahmed to tap in at the back post.
Boos unsurprisingly rang around the emptying King Power at full time as there was simply no way past a resistant Norwich defense for Leicester City, who find themselves winless in nine matches.
Having now lost a fourth home game in a row and points seeming hard to get anywhere at the moment, the Foxes are in big trouble.
