Leicester City’s confirmed ins and outs after Abdul Fatawu’s £23m Ipswich move | OneFootball

Abdul Fatawu has left Leicester City for Premier League Ipswich Town for a fee understood to be £20m plus £3m in add-ons, making him the most expensive departure from a League One club. The previous record was held by Jeremy Monga.

According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, Victor Kristiansen has joined Panathinaikos on loan with an option to buy that could become an obligation if he reaches a specified number of league appearances.

Russell Martin has begun reshaping his squad, with Conor Chaplin arriving on a three-year contract after leaving Ipswich, where he scored 55 goals. Goalkeeper Alex McCarthy, 36, has signed a two-year deal after his release from Southampton. He worked with Martin at St Mary’s and helped the club win promotion to the Premier League in 2024.

Several departures have followed. Harry Winks has joined Cagliari for an undisclosed fee, while Ricardo Pereira, Jordan Ayew, Patson Daka and Jamaal Lascelles left at the end of their contracts. Academy midfielder Henry Cartwright moved to Bradford City earlier in the summer.

Further exits include Bilal El Khannouss to Stuttgart for £14.6m and Jeremy Monga to Manchester City for £12.5m. Amani Richards has signed for Barnsley, Silko Thomas turned down a City contract to join Wycombe Wanderers, and Logan Briggs has joined Northampton on loan. Wanya Marcal, Jake Donohue and Alfie Fisken were released, while Jahmari Lindsay joined Kings Lynn and Toby Onanaye signed for Scunthorpe.

More signings are expected over the next few weeks as Leicester continue their rebuild in League One.
