According to a report from Foot Mercato, RC Lens are plotting a swoop for AJ Auxerre striker Lassine Sinayoko (25).
The Mali international was a key part of Auxerre’s mid-table finish last season, scoring five and assisting nine. And already this season, with one game played, Sinayoko has found the net, scoring the winner in Auxerre’s opening day 1-0 victory over FC Lorient

His performances, alongside his contract situation with the striker entering the final year of his deal, have caught the attention of clubs across France. OGC Nice tested the waters, sending a €6m offer with €1m in bonuses, but this was rejected.
Lens are hoping to steal in and secure the forward from under Nice’s noses. Lens’s sporting director Jean-Louis Leca is set to meet with Auxerre’s hierarchy today to try and find some common ground. Foot Mercato writes that €8m may prove to be enough to seal Auxerre’s approval.
